Title:
GRAFTED POLYOXYMETHYLENE RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3847007
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a grafted polyoxymethylene resin which gives a product reduced in a tendency toward warpage and being excellent in mechanical properties as well as in slidability, appearance, etc., by grafting polyoxymethylene onto inorganic microparticles having a specified mean primary particle diameter.
SOLUTION: This resin is one prepared by grafting polyoxymethylene onto surface-treated inorganic microparticles having a mean primary particle diameter of 2-80 nm i-n a grafting ratio of 5-10,000%. Inorganic microparticles are treated with a silane coupling agent such as γ-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane or a silicon compound such as tetraethoxysilane. The grafted polyoxymethylene resin is added to the polyoxymethylene resin to obtain a composition containing 0.01-30 pts.wt. inorganic microparticles per 100 pts.wt. organic part. The inorganic microparticles used are exemplified by microparticles of silicon oxide, aluminum oxide titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, or cerium oxide.
