Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a grain dispersion type aluminum matrix composite excellent in elongation by incorporating the grains to be dispersed for reinforcement, having respectively specified grain size and grain spacing and consisting of Al oxide, into a high purity Al matrix.
CONSTITUTION: A grain dispersion type aluminum matrix composite in which the grains to be dispersed for reinforcement, consisting of aluminum oxide and having 0.01-1μm grain size, are contained and these grains to be dispersed for reinforcement are dispersed at 0.05-5μm central spacing and, further, the purity of aluminum matrix, excluding these grains to be dispersed for reinforcement, is regulated to ≥99.9wt.% is prepared. By this method, the composite material in which the grains to be dispersed for reinforcement are uniformly dispersed and which has excellent elongation can be obtained.
