Abstract:
To provide an absorbent which exhibits excellent adsorptivity to ammonia or amine, has an indicator function and discolors when saturated with ammonia or amine, so that the saturated state of the absorbent can easily be judged visually.
This absorbent comprises a granular molded carrier of a mixture containing silica and activated clay in a weight ratio of 25:75 to 75:25. The granular molded carrier has total pore volume of 0.8-2.0 ml/g. Trivalent iron and a sulfate radical are deposited on the granular molded carrier.
