To provide a particulate molten iron manufacturing apparatus and a particulate molten iron manufacturing method which can suppress consolidation of pieces of particulate molten iron by efficiently cooling the particulate molten iron being conveyed by a conveyance device such as a conveyor.SOLUTION: A particulate molten iron manufacturing apparatus comprises: a particle-making device 12 which makes molten iron 18 a droplet; a cooling water tank 36 which stores cooling water; a cooling container 20 which is provided in the cooling water tank and cools the droplet to make it particulate molten iron; and a conveyance device 40 which carries out the particulate molten iron from the cooling water tank. The cooling container comprises: an input port 24 which receives the droplet; a discharge port 26 which discharges the particulate molten iron and is smaller than the input port; and an inclined surface 22 which connects the input port to the discharge port to each other. The conveyance device comprises: a conveyor which carries out the particulate molten iron to the outside of the cooling water tank from the inside of the cooling water tank; and a cooling water supply device which is provided on the upper side of the conveyor in the cooling water tank and supplies the cooling water for cooling the particulate molten iron carried out by the conveyor. The cooling water supply device supplies the cooling water to a region on the upper side of the particulate molten iron on the conveyor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
