PURPOSE: To obtain granules of agricultural chemical floating on the surface of water, having improved effects of water surface floating and spreading of active components of agricultural chemical, by blending granules of agricultural chemical containing a slightly water-soluble or water-insoluble active ingredient of agricultural chemical and a solid carrier with a liquid alkylbenzene containing ≤25C alkyl group.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A slightly water-soluble or water-insoluble active ingredients of agricultural chemical, especially 2-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-2-methylpropyl=3- phenoxybenzyl ether (ethofenprox) useful as an insecticide is blended with (B) a compound shown by the formula (X is 1-25C, preferably 6-20C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl; n is number of X replaced in benzene ring and is preferably 1-4 integer) and (C) a solid carrier as essential components in the ratio based of total amounts of preparation of preferably 0.5-10wt.% component A and about 1-15wt.% component B to inexpensively obtain granules of agricultural chemical floating in the surface of water, capable of showing excellent effects in terms of water floating properties and of efficiently controlling harmful underwater-organisms in paddy field, etc.
