A graphite-containing refractory material 1 is formed by forming a metal coating layer 2 on a surface of a refractory material. Because the metal coating layer 2 is formed on the surface of the refractory material, the oxidation inhibitor does not swell, coagulate, peel, or flow out even when heated, and its thermal conductivity is increased so as to shorten the fusion time and the like.
