To provide a graphite film having a thickness of ≤21 μm and softness and to provide its manufacturing method.
The graphite film has a thickness of ≥1 μm and ≤21 μm, and in an MIT bending resistant test and at a test condition wherein a curvature radius R of a bending clamp is 2 mm, a left and right bending angle is 90 degree and a bending speed is 90 time/min and a load is 0.98N, a reciprocal folding number until a strip-like test piece of the graphite film of 15 mm width is broken is ≥5,000 times. The manufacturing method of the graphite film includes a step of preparing a polymer film having a thickness of ≥10 μm and ≤45 μm, a carbonizing step of forming a carbonized film by heat-treating the polymer film and a graphitizing step of forming the graphite film by further heat-treating the carbonized film and the maximum temperature at the heat treatment at the graphitizing step is ≥2,600°C.
