To provide a gravure printing machine which can inhibit the failure of ink transfer to matter to be printed, and upgrade printing quality.
This gravure printing machine has the following operating function: First, a self-adhering layer 6 is formed on the surface of the side, to which ink 3 is transferred using a self-adhering layer forming means 7, of the matter 5 to be printed. The ink 3 packed inside a recessed part 2 in which an image defining line of a gravure plate cylinder 1 is formed, is transferred to the matter 5 to be printed through the self-adhering layer 6. The self-adhering layer forming means 7 supplies a molten self-adhering agent 8 to the surface of the traveling matter 5 to be printed. Further, the self-adhering layer forming means 7 is equipped with a doctor blade 9 which makes the self-adhering agent 8 even in thickness as specified on the surface of the matter 5 to be printed. In addition, the self-adhering agent 8 shows rapid drying properties and is dried to a semi-hardened state by natural desiccation, hot blast, ultraviolet rays and infrared rays in process of the movement of the matter 5 to be printed over a distance L in which the matter 5 reaches a point B where the gravure plate cylinder 1 is opposed to an impression cylinder 4, from the self-adhering layer forming means 7.
