Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a grease composition for joint hard to separate the base oil and the thickener even under high centrifugal force, causing little grease leakage, excellent in wear resistance, lubricity and durability, thus suitable for use in gear joints, etc., comprising each specific basal grease and low- molecular weight PE at specified proportions.
CONSTITUTION: This grease composition for joints is obtained by incorporating (A) a basal grease comprising (1) 100 pts.wt. of a base oil such as a synthetic hydrocarbon-based base oil-like a poly-α-olefin and (2) pref. 1-5 pts.wt. of a thickener such as a sodium soap with (B) 1-5 pts.wt, based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A, of a low-molecular weight PE 1000-4000 in number-average molecular weight. It is preferable that the component A be incorporated with at least one kind of extreme-pressure additive selected from boron compounds, zinc dialkyldithiophosphates, molybdenum dithiocarbamate and sulfur- phosphorus-based extreme-pressure additives.
