Title:
GREEN PHOSPHOR AND LIGHT-EMITTING DEVICE USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002038147
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a green phosphor improved in initial luminescence and a luminescence-maintaining ratio when a device made therefrom is lit, while keeping luminescent chromaticity inherent in a manganese-activated zinc silicate phosphor which is used for a light-emitting device, such as a PDP(plasma display panel) and a rare-gas discharge lamp, and emits green light.

This green fluorescent material is composed of a mixture of a first green phosphor and a second green phosphor, wherein the first green phosphor comprises a manganese-activated aluminate salt phosphor and the second green phosphor comprises a manganese-activated zinc silicate fluorescent material. The second green phosphor comprises a finely-divided phosphor having, for example, an average primary particle size of <1 μm. The second green phosphor thus prepared is adhered to surfaces of particles of the first green phosphor (coarse-grained phosphor). Further, surfaces of phosphor particles comprising the first green phosphor are coated with a phosphor coating film comprising the second green phosphor.
