To provide a greenery sound absorbing material and a greenery sound absorbing structure which reduces noise or the like from a noise generation source (vehicle, a road surface or the like), and is excellent in greenery aesthetic properties and workability.
The greenery sound absorbing material 1 is a sound absorbing basic material which is buried in or laid on a road surface. The sound absorbing basic material has a vegetation basic layer filled with soil 7 including a sheet-like water retaining material 4, a porous drainage material 5, and three-dimensional meshes 6 in a container 2. Plants 8 are planted on the upper surface of the soil 7 so as to form a plant growing layer. On the upper surface of the plants 8, a mesh layer is formed where filaments 9 including a thermoplastic resin are formed regularly or irregularly.
