To provide a grinder capable of suppressing the resonance of a finger part of an in-process gauge, without having to adjust a plate spring or the length of a finger, to thereby accurately measure the dimensions of a grinding surface.
This grinder 1 is provided with a workpiece holding table 2 for holding and rotating a workpiece, a wheel head 5 mounted with a grinding wheel 3 and having a rotating grinding shaft 4; a cutting imparting means for making the grinding wheel 3 perform a cutting operation in relation to the workpiece W, by relatively moving the workpiece holding table 2 and the wheel head 5; and the in-process gauge 6 for measuring the diameter of the workpiece W during grinding. The workpiece holding table 2 has a magnet chuck 7 for holding the workpiece W, made of a magnetic body by magnetic force, and a measuring element 13 of the in-process gauge 6 is made of a magnetic body.
