Abstract:

To equalize abrasion loss in the radial direction, prolong the life of a grinding wheel, and maintain grinding accuracy for a long term, by arranging a plurality of sorts of abrasive grain segment tips continuously changing grinding wheel performance in the radial direction of the grinding wheel.

A first abrasive grain segment tip 12 is formed into a nearly fan-like plate shape, a second abrasive grain segment tip 13 is formed into a plate shape, and they are combined together so as to form an annular grinding wheel. Diamond, CBN, and the like are used for super abrasive grains. A plurality of the first abrasive grain segment tips 12 and the second abrasive grain segment tips 13 are fixed to the upper end face of a grinding wheel base 11 through adhesive. A fitting hole 11c is mounted on the extreme end of a shaft, and a nut is engaged with the external thread on the extreme end of the shaft. By rotating the shaft, a grinding wheel 10 is rotated in the direction of the arrow mark 14. Hereby, abrasion loss in the radial direction of the grinding wheel 10 becomes uniform.
