PURPOSE: To enable the control of electromagnetic force in the direction of propelling and increase in the service life of a propelling ground coil, by filling the gap formed between a side perpendicular to the direction of vehicle travel and a side of the adjacent case with insulating filler.
CONSTITUTION: A spacer 5, made of cut pieces of polyester unwoven cloth sheet, is compressed and inserted into the gap between a case 3 and a propelling coil 2b. An ordinary temperature setting silicone rubber compound 4 is poured in the gap, and hardened. After the case and propelling ground coil 2b are assembled together on a flat surface and the filler 4 is hardened, the resultant assembly is secured on a concrete side wall with bolts to complete the installation. As a result, electromagnetic force in the direction of propelling that is produced in the ground coil 2 whenever a vehicle passes, is received by the case 3 secured on the concrete side wall through the insulating filler 4. This suppresses vibrations and thus minimizes wear and damage to the ground coil 2 due to vibration, which increases the service life of the ground coil 2.
