Title:
GUARD CABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3259017
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relieve an impact force at collision by connecting ropes to posts through a buffering part elongating the lateral rope when a tension larger than a specified value acts on the lateral ropes laid in a plurality of upper and lower stages between the posts erected at every appropriate distance.
SOLUTION: Lateral ropes 3 are hooked on fixed posts 1 erected at every specified distance or tilted posts in a road side or a medial strip or the like with metal tools 5 at buffering parts and vertical ropes 4 are connected to the lateral ropes 3 with crossing metal tools 7. A netted guard body is formed and spread between the posts by the vertical and lateral ropes 4, 3 with a specified tensile force to prevent cars from protruding out of the road. When an impact force at the time a car has collided with the guard cable is small, the car is damaged a little, but when a large accident has occurred, the lateral ropes are elongated to absorb the impact force. When an external force larger than the holding force of a crossing metal fitting 7 acts on the crossing part of vertical and lateral ropes 4, 3, the crossing part is shifted to absorb the impact force. In this way, impact forces are relieved to increase safety in an accident.
