To provide a guard pipe joint wherein a balustrade beam can be angle-adjustably fixed on the upper end of a column in a vertical plane including the axial line of the column and which has excellent appearance.
A guard pipe joint is composed of a semi-spherical cap 6 fitted on the upper end of a column 7 and forming a slot 6A in its upper face, a receiving metal fitting 8 fixed on the lower face of a beam 9, and a fixed metal fitting 11 for fixing the receiving metal fitting 8 on a cap 6. The receiving metal fitting 8 comprises the receiving part 8A of the beam 9, a recessed part 8B contacted on the upper face of the cap 6 and a through hole 8C formed on the bottom of the recessed part 8B. The fixed metal fitting 11 comprises bolts 10 inserted in the slot 6A through the through hole 8C from the recessed part 8B of the receiving metal fitting 8 mounted on the upper face of the cap 6, a coil spring 13 disposed around the bolt 10 in the recessed part 8B, and nuts 14 screwed on the bolt 10 of the cap 6. The head part of the bolt is housed in the recessed part 8B, the through hole 8C has a shape capable of penetrating the nut 14 and when the nut 6 is rotated, the slot 6A has size in which the nut 14 is gotten out of the slot 6A.
