Abstract:
To provide a guest-host liquid crystal composition capable of retaining high coloring matter density even at a low temperature and having a high dichroic ratio.
This guest-host liquid crystal composition comprises a liquid crystal material as a host and a dichroic coloring matter formulated to the liquid crystal material as a guest. The composition is characterized in that the liquid crystal material contains a condensed ring in the molecular structure thereof and the dichroic coloring matter is a compound having a condensed ring in the basic skeleton thereof as a bonded substituent.
