To provide a guidance block which allows a number of persons including able-bodied persons to be rapidly, safely, and reliably guided under no lighting in the case of power failure or the like.
Examples of a guidance block include a platform edge warning block 5 for visually-impaired persons which is arranged inside a line 4 on a train platform for preventing contact with a vehicle. The block is provided with a point-like protrusion 7 and a linear protrusion 8. The surface of the linear protrusion 8 and the vicinity thereof is provided with coating films 10, 11, and 12 containing luminescent material. The top face of the block 5 except for the portion provided with the coating films 10, 11, and 12 containing luminescent material is formed of a yellow color coating film 9 for weak-sighted persons.
