PURPOSE: To manufacture an economic guide shoe having good workability and crack-resistance by making a member sliding on a rolled stock and an other member of different materials as to the guide shoe being used in a diagonal rolling mill for seamless tubes manufacturing.

CONSTITUTION: A guide shoe used in a diagonal rolling mill at a manufacturing stages of piercing, drawing, and cold finishing of seamless tubes is constructed so that a member (shoe part) (a) sliding on a rolled stock and an other member (guide part) (b) are made of different materials. That is, a material of the shoe part (a) is selected from among high Cr-Ni cast steel, high Cr-Ni base alloys, Ni base alloys, hastelloy alloy, ceramics to meet a material of the rolled stock. A material of the guide part (b) is made by heat treating heat resistant low alloy steel. The guide shoe is integrally formed by fitting the shoe part (a) into the part (b).
