Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair grower excellent in depilation-preventive effect and hair growing effect, containing a combination of specific plant extract(s) with an amine oxide.
SOLUTION: This hair grower contains 0.005-20wt.%, on a dry basis, of extract(s) from Paeonia lactiflora Pallas (Paeonia albiflora Pallas var. irichocarpa Bunge) and/or Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews (Paeonia mountan Sims) (Paeoniaceae) and 0.0001-20wt.% of an amine oxide of the formula (R1 is a 2-24C alkyl; R2 is methyl or hydroxyethyl; A is monoxyethylene; (n) is 0-5) (e.g. N,N-dihydroxymethyl-2-dodecylamine oxide). The former extract is obtained from the root of the corresponding plant, while the latter extract from the root bark of the corresponding plant. The extractant to be used is an organic solvent. This hair grower is effective for treating/preventing depilation, being administered through direct coating or spraying on the skin; its daily dose is 0.01-100mg/kg for adult in one to four portions per day.
