Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair-growing agent useful for treating alopecia and underdeveloped hair by formulating a 15-ketoprostaglandin as an active ingredient.
SOLUTION: This hair-growing agent contains a 15-ketoprostaglandin [e.g. a compound (e.g. 13,14-dihydro-15-ketoprostaglandin) of the formula (X and Y are each H, hydroxyl, etc.; A is CH2OH and the like; B is CH2-CH2 and the like; Q1 and Q2 are each H, a halogen, etc.; R1 is a (substituted) divalent lower to medium aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; R2 is a lower cycloalkyl and the like) as an active ingredient. The dose is usually 0.01-100 μg/affected part. When administrated twice to four times a day or as a long-acting form, sufficient effect is obtained at a dose of 0.001-500 mg/kg.
