Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect defective forming and prevent poor filing from developing in an elastic stapler, which forms a straight staple and strike it in.
SOLUTION: A forming plate 15 is installed vertically movably within a certain range to a vertically driving link arm 3 and urged downwards by an extension coiled spring 16. A forming sensor consisting of a photointerrupter 17 and a lever-like douser 18 is installed on the link arm 3. When the forming plate 15 occupies its lower stand-by position, the lever-like douser 18 interrupts the optical path of the photointerrupter 17. At the forming action of a stapler, the forming plate 15 rises by the reaction force of a staple, resulting in pivoting the lever-like douser 18 and outputting ON signal from the photointerrupter 17. Through the absence and presence of the detection signal and its time of duration, whether the forming action is performed normally or not can be judged.
