To obtain a hair-modifying agent comprising a complex of egg albumen and a fatty acid excellent in regeneration of the damaged hair, and useful as a component for a hair cosmetic.
This hair-modifying agent comprises a complex of egg albumen and a fatty acid. The complex preferably comprises 100 pts.wt. of solid matter of the albumen and 5-30 of the fatty acid. Raw egg albumen separated from egg yolk after cracking an egg, frozen albumen formed by freezing, concentrated albumen formed by concentration, dried albumen formed by spray-drying, freeze- drying, or the like, is, for example, used as the albumen. A fatty acid having a 10-24C alkyl is, for example, used as the fatty acid, and capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid is concretely exemplified. The hair-modifying agent is, for example, produced by adding the fatty acid to the albumen in a liquid state under starring so that 5-30 pts.wt. of the fatty acid is added to 100 pts.wt. of the solid matter of the albumen, then subjecting the resulting mixture to homogenizing treatment.
