PURPOSE: To obtain a hair tonic not providing skin tissue with excessive irritation, having mild effects free from side effects, containing allantoin and water- soluble placenta essence.

CONSTITUTION: A hair tonic containing 0.01-0.1wt.% allantoin and 0.01-0.1wt.% water-soluble placenta essence, a protein component extracted from vituline placenta. The hair tonic is further mixed with dl-α-tocopherol acetate as hair nourishing component, a component (e.g. inositol or dipotassium glycyrrhizate) preventing removal of hair and having antihistamine action, anti-dermatitis action, softening action and moisture retention action on skin, antiseptic, refreshing component, solubilizer, dispersant, perfume, colorant, etc., and prepared to give the objective substance.
