To obtain the subject composition capable of providing waved hair to supply hair with excellent touch and luster by including a specific aqueous emulsion, a higher alcohol, a cationic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant.
This composition comprises (A) an aqueous emulsion of a silicone polymer of formula I (R is H or trimethylsilyl; R1 is hydroxy or methyl; R2 is a 1-6C alkylene; R3 is a 1-4C alkylene; (m) is 4-500; (n) is 1-15, (B) a higher alcohol preferably of the formula R-OH (R is a 12-24C alkyl or alkenyl), (C) a quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant of formula II (R1 and R2 are each methyl, methylsulfato or the like; R3 and R4 are each a 8-18C alkyl or alkenyl; X is a halogen, methylsulfato or the like) and (D) a nonionic surfactant preferably of formula III ((n) is 2-100) or a nonionic surfactant of formula IV (R is a 12-22C alkyl or alkenyl; a+b+c is 0-60).
