Abstract:
To provide a halogen-containing benzoporphyrin and a new method for easily producing the compound.
The method for producing the halogen-containing benzoporphyrin (4) comprises reduction of phthalonitrile (1) to form isoindole (2), the reaction of the isoindole with tripyran (3) and the oxidization of the reaction product. In the formulas, X is a halogen atom and Y is an alkyl group or the like.
