Title:
HALOGEN POWER CONVERTER HAVING COMPLEMENTARY SWITCH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001211658
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a power converter to be used in a stabilizer which supplies low-voltage alternating current from a high-voltage power source to a load circuit comprising a low voltage lamp.

The power converter is fitted with a rectifier (18) which generates pulsating DC voltage having frequency twice as high as that of power line voltage; a gate driving circuit (38) comprising a driving inductor (58); a timing inductor (60) and a timing capacitor (62) series-connected and connected to a pair of switches (14, 16) to drive the switches (14, 16) so as to invert the pulsating DC voltage; a transformer which comprises a first transformer winding (58), a second transformer winding (24) and a capacitor (26), and receives an output signal from the switches; and a lamp (12) which receives a driving signal from the transformer winding (24) through a tap (31). The tap is so constituted as to attenuate a signal generated between both terminals of the transformer winding.
