Abstract:
To provide an isoolefin-multiolefin copolymer having a multiolefin content above 2.5 mol%, Mw above 240 kg/mol, and a gel content below 1.2 mass%.
This production method of the copolymer includes steps of (a) polymerizing at least one type of isoolefin, at least one type of multiolefin, and optionally, a monomer further under existence of a catalyst and an organic nitro compound, and (b) contacting the obtained copolymer with at least one type of a halogenation agent under a halogenation condition.
