Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of a mobile station having an asynchronous and synchronous demodulation module to conduct hand-off in the case of moving from an asynchronous mobile communication system cell to a synchronous mobile communication system cell.
SOLUTION: The method includes a step where a synchronous demodulation module is driven for a prescribed idle slip block to acquire and hold the timing of a synchronous base station while the mobile station is operated in a cell of an asynchronous base station, a step where the strength of a pilot signal to a peripheral synchronous base station is measured on the basis of the timing acquired by the mobile station during the hand-off and the result of measurement is reported to the asynchronous base station, a step where the mobile station receives information to from a traffic channel with the synchronous base station from the asynchronous base station, and a step where the mobile station makes hand-off to the synchronous base station on the basis of the information to form the traffic channel.
