Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure airtightness within a furnace by arranging a topboard at the upper end on the circumference of a furnace body to be divided in the circumferential direction thereof while being tiltable in the direction of the inside of the surface to form a seal part with the top surface of the topboard and the underside of a furnace lid.
SOLUTION: Water cooled topboards 13a and 13b are arranged at the top part of a furnace body 1 to be linked to a driver 16 in which one end thereof is linked to a circular reinforcing member 8 through a pin 15 while the other end on the outer circumference thereof is mounted on the circular reinforcing member 8 or on the furnace body 1 through a pin 17. The topboards 13a and 13b are divided in the circumferential direction and made tiltable so that stacked material drops into the furnace by pushing or pulling the outer circumferential end thereof with the driver 16. The top surface of a water cooling box 7 set on the internal surface of the furnace body 1 is inclined to be lower on the side of the inside of the furnace. When a furnace lid 3 is kept closed, the topboards 13a and 13b get hung on a sealing ring 14 provided over the entire circumference on the circular reinforcing member 8. Thus, there is no clearance generated between the topboards 13a and 13b and the circular reinforcing member 8.
