PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely adjust an offset.SOLUTION: A handheld terminal device includes a sensor that acquires a sensor value to be used to determine whether an own device stands still, a comparator that compares a corrected sensor value, which is obtained by correcting the sensor value, which is acquired by the sensor, using an offset equivalent to a sensor value obtained when the own device stands still, with a first threshold, and an updating unit that updates the offset on the basis of the sensor values, which are acquired during a predetermined calibration period, when a result of comparison by the comparator demonstrates that the corrected sensor values of all the sensor values acquired by the sensor during the calibration period fall below the first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
