Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripper capable of safely gripping a hot cooking vessel.
SOLUTION: This gripping handle at the edge 13 of a cooking vessel is a proper rod to grip by hand, which consists of a fixed gripping portion 15 at the front edge being in contact with the outer periphery wall at the edge of the cooking vessel and a body 10 having an accepting chamber 12 formed inside. A movable member 18 has a movable gripping portion 18a working with the fixed gripping portion of the body to contact, at its end, the inner periphery wall at the edge of the cooking vessel in gripping the cooking vessel. The movable member is connected to a spring 17, which is accepted by the accepting chamber of the body and one end of which is formed in the body, and disposed in the longitudinal direction of the body so as to be movable. An operation lever 14 is rotatably supported by the body and adapted to get access in and out of the accepting chamber through an opening 12a formed in the long side of the body. A power transmission 20 has a rotating member and a guide member, the rotating member being in the shape of a gear 22 or a disc and the guide member being in the shape of a gear 24 or a rail corresponding to the rotating member.
