Abstract:

To improve operability so that a choke lever and a stop switch may not be hindrances by providing a handle with a projected grip parts and providing the choke lever or the stop switch on the side parts of these grip parts, on the outer peripheral part of a cowling of the head part of an outboard engine.

Handles 5, 6 are provided on the head part of an outboard engine 100 and grip parts 50, 60 are formed in each of the handles 5, 6. The grip part 50 of the handle 5 is formed by being curved downward so as to be located on substantially the same horizontal surface as a centroid location at the vertical attitude of the outboard engine 100. Each of a stop switch 15 and a choke lever 16 is mounted on holes for mounting which are formed on both the side parts. The stop switch 15 is provided on the side of a steering handle 90 and the choke lever 16 is provided on the side of antisteering handle 90. Thus, the choke lever 16 or the stop switch 15 can be easily operated only if the hand is slid to the side from the grip parts 50, 60 of the handles 5, 6.
