Abstract:

To unify the design of latching devices for hinged doors and sliding doors/drawers.SOLUTION: A gripping unit includes a gripper 11, a housing 12 that houses the gripper, an engagement pawl 14 that engages a latch receiver, and an operation part 13 that operates in conjunction with an operation of the gripper. The housing is provided with a through-hole, is configured to allow the gripper to tilt in the direction of door opening and to pull it out with the operation part penetrating from the surface to the back through the through-hole, is provided with a first guide that supports an engagement pawl for rotation in the direction of a latch release and causes the latch to move in its release direction and a second guide that serves as a guide for pulling the gripper in the door opening direction. The engagement pawl is supported to act in two different way, which makes it possible to use a same grasping unit in both hinged doors and sliding doors.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
