PURPOSE: To facilitate the change of handling devices so as to improve conveying efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: A carrier system is provided with an overhead carrier 3 traveling along a travel rail 2 laid at the ceiling, and the overhead carrier 3 is provided with a handling device 21 or the like for placing loads. The handling device 21 or the like is fitted/removed to/from the overhead carrier 3 by a multiple connector. The carrier system is provided with transfer stations for performing load transfer work to/from the overhead carrier 3, and changing stations for changing the handling device 21 or the like in correspondence with each transfer station. In this case, loads are conveyed from one transfer station to another transfer station. The handling device 21 or the like is therefore fitted to the overhead carrier 3 in one changing station and removed in another changing station.
