To provide a spindle motor which improves sealability of a through hole of a base plate for inserting a lead wire therethrough.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a spindle motor comprising: a base part 200 in which a through hole 220 in communication with inner and outer faces is formed; a stator core which is provided inside of the base part 200 and around which a coil is wound; and a circuit board 300 which is provided outside of the base part and to which a lead wire of the coil drawn from the through hole to the outside is connected. The through hole 220 includes: an inner opening which is opened inside of the base part 200; an outer opening which is opened outside of the base part 200; and a cylindrical intermediate portion between the inner opening and the outer opening. A plug member receiving portion having the diameter larger than that of the intermediate portion is provided in the outer opening, a plug member 250 including an insertion hole 251 in communication with the intermediate portion in a central portion is fitted to the plug member receiving portion in an airtight manner, and the insertion hole 251 of the plug member 250 and the through hole 220 are filled with an adhesive 206.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
