Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject capsule slight in cracking and improved in dissolvability by packing a water-sensitive substance into a nonfoamy hard gelatin capsule incorporated with a specific polyethylene glycol. SOLUTION: This hard gelatin capsule is obtained by packing a water- sensitive substance into a nonfoamy hard gelatin capsule prepared by formulating gelatin with a polyethylene glycol 200-2,000 in molecular weight; wherein, in particular, the water content of the capsule film is <=13 wt.% (esp. pref. 10.1-12.9 wt.%). The water-sensitive substance means a hygroscopic, water- absorbing or water-releasing substance such as a polyethylene glycol 200-600 in molecular weight, or a substance inducing the embrittlement of gelatin film.
