PURPOSE: To shorten the response time of the whole system and improve the accuracy of the control independently of the controlled response time of the pressure control meter in a paper machine head box control device for ejecting a slurry-like paper raw material on the wire section of the paper machine.
CONSTITUTION: The head box control device of a paper machine S provided with a means 5 for detecting the rotation rate of a fan pump 2 for the head box, a means 17 for detecting the speed of a wire 3, a means 12 for detecting the inner pressure of the head box 1, a means 21 for computing the command of the rotation rate of the fan pump based on the speed of the wire 3 and the rotation rate of the fan pump 2, and a J/W ratio-computing means for discriminating that a pressure control meter-correcting signal based on the difference between the inner pressure of the head box and a pressure set value becomes a prescribed time, zero, and for computing a jet/wire(J/W) ratio determined from the ratio of the speed of the wire to the rotational speed of the fan pump. In the head box control device of the paper machine, the rotational speed of the fan pump 2 is corrected on the result computed with the J/W ration computing means.
