Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protecting instrument capable of softening both impact force added in a normal direction and impact force added in a tangential direction to the head.SOLUTION: A protective hat 1 includes a hat body 2 attachable to a head H of the human body, and a shock absorber 3 provided on the hat body 2. There are also included a plurality of split impact absorption elements 3A having a shape made by splitting a head curved surface shape into a plurality of parts, and attached to the hat body 2 along the head curved surface shape. Each of the plurality of split impact absorption elements 3A has first and second cushioning materials 31a and 31b overlapped so as to make a multi-layer structure, deformable by an external force added from the outside, and forming a slide surface 34 slidably moving to the head H in a tangential direction, and an elastic cover 32 deformable by an external force while retaining the multi-layer structure by the first and second cushioning materials 31a and 31b.
