To provide a head supporting device in which, in shifting mode from a reproducing state to a recording state, positioning can quickly and precisely be corrected, deviation of initializing magnetic alignment direction and a recording magnetic field is small, deterioration for recording characteristics can be suppressed, and skew is suppressed to very small extent.
A first link 3 and a second link 4 rotate around a first center of rotation 5a and a second center of the rotation 5b and a third link 7 is connected to each of them with free to rotate. Link length of the first link 3 and the second link 4 are set to be approximately the same, and the length of the third link 7 is set to be approximately the same as a distance between the first center of the rotation 5a and the second center of the rotation 5b. It is configured that the rotation of the first link 3 enables the third link 7 to move back and forth almost in a state parallel to a line 8 connecting the first center of the rotation 5a and the second center of the rotation 5b and a slider 9 on which a magnetic head for a suspension 10 attached to the third link moves back and forth.
