PURPOSE: To provide a headlamp device for a vehicle by which replacement and inspection of an HID can be facilitated without enlarging the size of the whole vehicle or the inside of an engine room particularly.
CONSTITUTION: When a unit 9 is installed in a unit installing part 10, an HID 7 is inserted in a reflecting mirror 4 through an inserting port 3a of a lamp body 3 and a high intensity discharge lamp inserting cutout part 4a opened on a side surface of the reflecting mirror 4. Since the side surface direction of the lamp body 3 having allowance comparatively in a space in a car body in which the lamp body 3 is arranged is set in the installing direction of the unit 9, a work space when the unit 9 is mounted on and demounted from the lamp body 1 can be secured without enlarging a rear space of the lamp body 3.
