PURPOSE: To reduce the number of assembly processes by providing a shade for covering the front part of a light source for low beam, arranged in a recessed part of a body, in such a way that the end part of a support leg of the shade is placed between a setting groove of the body and a peripheral wall part of a lens.

CONSTITUTION: A headlamp unit 1 is composed of a lamp body 3, a lens 4 mounted on the front surface of the body 3, upper and lower discharge lamps 5, 5 provided in a separated way in a lamp unit space, and of a shade 6 arranged in front of the upper lamp 5u. A setting groove 8 formed on the opening end of the front surface of the body 3, is opened in a front direction, and is fitted to a peripheral wall 4b of the lens 4. The end part of a support leg 21 of the shade 6 for covering the front part of a light source 5 is placed between the setting groove 8 formed on the opening peripheral wall part of the body 3 provided with a recessed part 2 with its front surface opened, and the peripheral wall part 4b provided from the periphery of the lens to the rear part thereof, and is mounted on the body 3. Since the support leg 21 of the shade is placed between the setting groove 8 of the body and the peripheral wall 4b of the lens, there is no need for special parts, and the number of assembly processes can thus be reduced.
