Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a headlight for a vehicle of a projector type have a light distribution pattern which does not cause a light beam loss, and the shape and intensity of which are adequate to overhead sign illumination.
SOLUTION: An opening section 20b is formed in the immediate area of the upper periphery of a shade 20 shading a part of reflected light reflected by a reflector 14. This makes light illuminated forward through the opening section 20b form a light distribution pattern in a shape corresponding to the opening shape of the opening 20b at a place adequate to the overhead sign illumination. Furthermore, an eaves-like shading plate 22 is formed extending backward and downward on the skew from a place between a top periphery 20a and the opening section 20b on the back of the shade 20. This makes only reflected light reflected by a lower reflection area 14aB of a reflection surface 14a of the reflected light reflected by the reflector 14 enter the opening section 20b, and prevents the light beam of overhead-sign illumination light B from being excessive.
