To provide a health condition measuring device and method capable of measuring a pH value of feces at a defecation time simply in the noncontact state without taking the feces, and thereby knowing a human health condition by estimating an enteric pH value.
This health condition measuring device M for measuring a pH value of feces in the noncontact state at the defecation time has a gas sensor 5 for measuring the concentration of a prescribed component in gas discharged at the defecation time, a storage device 7 for storing beforehand prescribed component concentration-pH value conversion data, and a control part 8 for operating a pH estimation value of the feces by applying the prescribed component concentration measured by the gas sensor to the prescribed component concentration-pH value conversion data.
