Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the insulation resistance of a capacitor in a short time.
SOLUTION: Two kinds of ac signals of different frequencies f1, f2 are applied to a capacitor, and the impedances Z1, Z2 of the capacitor at these frequencies are measured. The series resistance Rs and capacity C of the capacitor are calculated from the impedance Z1 at the higher frequency f1, and the insulation resistance Rs of the capacitor is calculated from the impedance Z2 at the lower frequency f2, the series resistance Rs, and the capacity C.
