PURPOSE: To realize a heat accumulator with a smaller volume in a heat accumulation type refrigerator for accumulating heat during the night and for using the energy thus accumulated during the day by a method wherein the efficiency of the heat accumulator is particularly enhanced and the cooling operational efficiency is improved by the efficient heat accumulation and the accumulated energy.
CONSTITUTION: A heat accumulator 32 is formed by arranging a number of heat accumulating containers 32a filled with heat accumulating agent parallel to one another and the heat accumulating containers 32a are made gradually larger toward the center of an air duct 43. The air duct 43 is provided with a dividing plate, a damper 45, a bypass 38a between a container outlet 26 and a heat accumulator inlet 32 and a a rockably driving body 46 for the heat accumulator.
