To provide a heat developable photosensitive material with less density irregularity in an image and to provide a method for forming an image on the material.
The heat developable photosensitive material has an image forming layer on at least one surface of a supporting body, wherein the image forming layer contains a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic acid silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder. The silver iodide content of the photosensitive silver halide ranges 40 to 100 mol%. A non-photosensitive intermediate layer (A) containing a binder is formed in the image forming layer side of the supporting body and between the farthest outermost layer from the supporting body and the above image forming layer. The binder in the non-photosensitive intermediate layer (A) contains ≥50 mass% hydrophobic polymer.
