Abstract:
An apparatus and method of forming a hybrid heat exchanger 12 including a first manifold 42 defining a first fluid inlet 60 and a second manifold 46 defining a second fluid inlet 70. A monolithic core body 16 includes a first set of flow passages 30 in fluid communication with the first manifold 42 and a second set of flow passages 34 is in communication with the second manifold 46. At least a portion of the first manifold 42 or the second manifold 46 has a tunable coefficient of thermal expansion that is less than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the structurally rigid monolithic core 16.
