To provide a heat insulating plate fixing boss for fixing a heat insulating plate to a resin fuel tank.

The heat insulating plate fixing boss comprises two independent components, namely, a clip member 1 and a base member 11. The clip member consists of a flange portion 2, a head body 3, and an elastic leg portion 4 having at least two leg pieces 4a inside for defining a cavity 5. A recessed groove 6 is formed between the flange portion and the head body for fitting the hole edge of a mounting hole of the heat insulating plate, and a lock shoulder 7 is formed on the front end outer peripheral face of each leg piece of the elastic leg portion. The base member is formed in such a cylindrical shape that the elastic leg portion of the clip member can be inserted therein, and has a diameter shrunk step formed on the inner peripheral face for locking the lock shoulder of the clip member. The inner diameter of a front end side opening 12a is smaller than the inner diameter of a base end side opening. When the elastic leg portion of the clip member is inserted into the base member, the flange portion of the clip member abuts on the front end side opening edge of the base member while it is deflected to the inside of the leg pieces. Thus, the lock shoulder formed on the leg pieces of the elastic leg portion is locked to the diameter shrunk step of the base member.
