Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the heat insulation material which suppresses the generation of powder and the process for production thereof by improving the splashing property and brittleness of the smoked coal heat insulation material while maintaining the characteristics thereof, such as excellent heat retaining power and heat insulation life.

CONSTITUTION: This heat insulation material contains (a) 75 to 90wt.% smoked carbon formed by smoking chaff, (b) 4 to 12wt.% starch, (c) 0.5 to 0.5wt.% either or both of carboxymethyl cellulose and chitin chitosan and (d) 2 to 12wt.% either or both of Portland cement powder and sodium carbonate.
